The WMCGW e-Library provides students with access to electronic academic resources that support classroom learning, theological study, scholarly research, and preparation for Christian ministry and leadership.
LIRN — Library and Information Resources Network
LIRN provides access to a collection of academic databases and electronic resources from multiple publishers, including scholarly journal articles, academic publications, reference materials, electronic books, and research materials across multiple disciplines.
Access: https://proxy.lirn.net/WorldMissionsCollegeOfGreaterWA — see the LIRN page for login details.
ProQuest Ebook Central — Academic Complete
Provides access to a broad collection of academic electronic books from scholarly and university publishers. Students may search for academic books by keyword, title, author, or subject; read online; create citations and research notes; and download or save materials when permitted by the license. Contact the Library for access instructions.
Credo Online Reference Service — Academic Core
Credo provides academic reference materials that are useful when beginning a research project — background information, key terminology, related topics, and reference articles to help develop search strategies before moving to specialized books and peer-reviewed journal articles. Contact the Library for access instructions.
Students should not share WMCGW e-Library login credentials with unauthorized individuals.
Open-Access Christian & Theological e-Resources
In addition to WMCGW’s subscription-based resources, students are encouraged to use these reputable open-access resources to supplement their biblical, theological, ministry, and interdisciplinary research:
- Open Access Digital Theological Library (OADTL) — discovery resource for open-access scholarship in theology, religious studies, and biblical studies.
- Theological Commons (Princeton Theological Seminary) — free access to books, periodicals, manuscripts, theses, and audio resources; especially useful for church history and historical theology.
- Index Theologicus (IxTheo) — specialized research database for theology and religious studies, especially helpful for M.Div. and D.Min. research.
- Digital Commons Network — Religion Commons — freely available scholarly works covering Christianity, biblical studies, practical theology, missions, and world Christianity.
- Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) — scholarly open-access journals across many disciplines.
- Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB) — scholarly open-access books from academic publishers.
Open-access resources should be used to supplement WMCGW’s subscription-based e-Library databases. Students should evaluate sources for authority, scholarly quality, relevance, and academic credibility, and follow their instructor’s requirements regarding acceptable sources for course assignments.
